Adium 1.0.5

We’re happy to announce that Adium 1.0.5 is now available for download.

This last planned release of the 1.0.x series fixes a big handful of bugs and so is a recommended download for all Adium 1.0 users. Adium 1.1, the next major release which has been in development for the past year, will drop OS X 10.3 support, targeting OS X 10.4+ so we can bring you more of the shiny.

The most notable changes of Adium 1.0.5 include that problems with the chat transcript viewer incorrectly re-indexing transcripts have been fixed, login credentials for systemwide proxy servers are now read properly, and we’ve updated to libpurple 2.0.2. Also, AdiumLibpurplePlugins, which can let Adium make use of libpurple protocol plugins previously usable only in Pidgin, will now install properly, good news for users interested in adding Tlen support to Adium. See the Version History for the full scoop.

Thanks as always for the continued support of our excellent site and code host NetworkRedux and our download host Cachefly!

Anyone else notice that google talk file transfers started working after this update? It had never worked before this update.

Thank you very much for this update! amazing job of getting rid of the bugs and improving the program :)

Now just waiting for video chat capabilities, especially for MSN. That is the one thing i miss about Windows XP.

Looks like a great program. Probably the lack of video chat will keep me from using it a lot. When you get video for AIM and Yahoo, that will be great.

Does anyone else have problems using Jabber with Adium 1.0.3 up?

  6. Anonymous Says:

    jabber works just fine.
b.t.w. you early adopter guys. 1.0.5 works fine with leopard (as long you dont enable bonjour) ;-)

  7. Jay Says:

Anyone else notice a crash which left my address book completely deleted?

  8. Adrian Says:

Yep, Bonjour still crashes it on Leopard as soon as you enable it :s …

Thanks. Great update. I’m seeing file transfers working on Google Talk, too. Of course, we’re all anxious to see cross-service, cross-platform video chat. :)

It seems that adium to adium gtalk file transfers work, but adium to gtalk client transfers don’t work.

Hello to everyone! I installed today the new version (1.0.5) and with MSN it’s working fine but with ICQ is a disaster; the application crashes every minutes! :(
Has anyone got such problems with ICQ contacts?

This very seems much less responsive…When I click on tabs, they seem to take a while to come to. Very annoying.

Folks! We’re thrilled to have you following the blog and posting comments, but this is not a support forum — please note the giant red letters at the top of the blog page! Please file Trac tickets on any issues you are seeing – if you don’t, it’s certainly possible nobody will (especially since this is the first time I’ve heard about any issue above this comment except for the Bonjour-on-Leopard crash).
