Ah. I didn't know they would be all be working from a single disk.

Either that, or some sort of low-cost FireWire RAID enclosure with  
some cheap low-capacity drives. (No, I don't know whether this sort  
of thing exists. I hope so, if it'd be much cheaper than an Xserve.)
