Adium 1.4b18 released
Hello folks,
We are closing in on the release of Adium 1.4 and have released a new beta, b18, today.
Most prominently, this release fixes Twitter support, disables Facebook authorisation requests and refreshes many translations. Adium 1.4b18 also takes libpurple to version 2.6.6 with some selected changes from 2.7.0 fixing Yahoo! Japan login and bringing greatly improved Gadu-Gadu support. It is available via Adium’s integrated Sparkle updating mechanism and at the beta page where you can also find the full list of changes made since b17.
Please test contact management in particular – combined contacts, (re)moving contacts and the like – since substantial parts of the contact lists have been rewritten for Adium 1.4.

I think the word “million” was missing in the above comment. But anyway, since Adium is open source, any developer in a need for a protocol can improve it I guess. For that same reason there might not be any decent MSN support, since devs use XMPP and IRC mostly I guess.
Thanks for the Twitter fix! It means a lot to all 3 of me… No, wait…. There is only one of me I think.

Broken…sort of. My contact list is gone. All accounts signed in but the list of contacts is completely gone. System.log is full of

Finally a new release! Hope to see the final 1.4 soon. If I search for error/failure in the debug view, I get this (if it is any help):

Gtalk stopped working for me when I upgraded to b18. The password, which hasn’t changed and was working earlier, simply gets rejected.

I got scared that Adium was going away, but I was wrong. Hopefully, the full update will bring a fix to the MSN Chat.

First of all thank you very much for continuing enhancing Adium.
For the Facebook issue. I believe the the problem is with the new Facebook Account Settings feature “Account Security”. I find that if I have this enabled in Facebook I am not able to log into Facebook with Adium. As soon as I disabled the said feature Adium is able to log into Facebook.
There must be some way to authorize Adium as one of the clients for ones Facebook account.
